This pattern shows you how to knit and assemble a giant rope rug, where to get the materials, and how to dye the rope any color. There are also instructions for making a smaller doormat-sized version.
The pattern comes as a PDF file, which should become available to download as soon as your payment clears. This is not the actual knit rug! If you are interested in purchasing a finished knit item, please contact me for a custom order.
Difficulty: Easy. The pattern uses a basic garter stitch. And because the rope is so thick, you don't need very many stitches per row!
Cost: The cotton piping cord required to knit a giant rug costs around $100 ($35 for a small rug). The size 36 circular knitting needle can cost anywhere from $10-$25. Of course you can always use the pattern as a starting point and substitute your own materials.
