This pattern shows you how to knit a basket with thick cotton rope, where to get the materials, and how to alter the dimensions to make baskets in different sizes and shapes.
Size: The large basket is approximately 13 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. The medium size is 10x10 inches and the small is 9x9 inches.
The pattern comes as a PDF file, which should become available to download as soon as your payment clears. This is not the actual knit basket! If you are interested in purchasing a finished knit basket, contact me for a custom order.
Difficulty: Easy. The pattern uses a basic garter stitch. And because the rope is so thick, you only need a few stitches per row!
Cost: The rope required to knit a large basket costs around $35. The size 50 or 36 circular knitting needle can cost anywhere from $10-$25. For smaller baskets you can use a size 50 or 35 straight set, which you can get for less than $10. Of course you can always use the pattern as a starting point and substitute your own materials.
