This pattern shows you how to knit and assemble a pouf made with giant stuffed tube yarn. It also includes instructions on how to stuff your pouf with soft and firm options. The main tutorial shows a "table knitting" technique where you knit with your hands. But the pattern also includes instructions for knitting with a circular needle.
The pattern comes as a PDF file, which should become available to download as soon as your payment clears. This is not the actual knit pouf! If you are interested in purchasing a finished knit pouf, please contact me for a custom order.
Size: The standard pouf we make in my classes (with 1 50-yard roll of yarn) is approximately 16 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. For a larger version, you would need 2 rolls or 100 yards of tube yarn, and your pouf would be more like 20 inches in diameter and 14 inches tall.
Difficulty: Easy. You don't even need to know how to knit! There is some assembly required to make the liner bag and stuff the pouf.
Cost: Tube yarn is pricey at up to $1 per yard. Etsy seller BeCozi sells a version with several colors. Lion Brand Yarn sells a version called Yooge yarn on their web site. Ohhio Braid yarn is a great option, too. You will also need 1-2 yards of fabric in a matching color and something to stuff inside your pouf. If you choose to knit with needles, I recommend a size 70 circular needle set. You can find this at Michaels craft stores or search Etsy. Of course you can always use the pattern as a starting point and substitute your own materials.
