Learn how to make your own gorgeous merino wool blanket by knitting the stitches with your hands flat on a table. If you can’t make it to an in-person class, this kit is the next best thing, and you will get it for less than the regular price of the wool.
The kit includes:
• 4 pounds of ultra soft merino wool roving
• Photo tutorial with instructions for making the blanket
• Needle felting needle for joining ends
• Link to video class on Skillshare for you to watch at home
Finished size: approximately 30 x 50 inches, although size varies a lot depending on the size of your stitches (each one is 3-4 inches tall!). The double kit contains double the wool and makes a blanket approximately 45x65 inches.
*This is not a finished blanket! If you would like one, go to this listing.
Colors: Undyed is a light cream color and has a little bit of waviness to it. See the swatch in the last photo for more color options. The unicorn yarn costs a little more, as it is a blend of colors.
Skill level: This is beginner friendly and no knitting experience is required. You use your hands rather than knitting needles.
Care: Hand wash cold with a wool-friendly cleanser/lay flat to dry or dry clean. Unfortunately you cannot just toss these blankets in the washing machine for a full cycle. The pure wool will felt and ruin the blanket. I include some tips on caring for these blankets in the pattern, including how to lightly felt your blanket to prevent fuzzing.
Processing time: If I have your color in my studio, the blanket could be ready as soon as 2 days. If I need to order the color (usually the case), it will take about a week to receive undyed wool and up to 2 weeks to receive dyed wool.
